Here's the horoscope of a very wealthy individual: Jeff Bezos who founded and controls Amazon and a host of enormous enterprises. There is some uncertainty concerning his exact birth time, but this chart seems consistent to the facts, so here it is.
According to Wikipedia, Jeff Bezos is "an American entrepreneur, media proprietor, investor, and commercial astronaut. He is the founder, executive chairman, and former president and CEO of Amazon, the world's largest e-commerce and cloud computing company. With a net worth of US$125 billion as of April 2023, Bezos is the third-wealthiest person in the world and was the wealthiest from 2017 to 2021, according to both the Bloomberg Billionaires Index and Forbes."
The houses which relate to wealth are the second and eleventh houses. When we see the rulers of these houses strongly positioned in a chart - or when they appear together in a chart - or when they are closely connected, we can safely predict financial success.
But now that we've checked off all those traditional boxes, let's look a little deeper. Let's consider other ascendants, other points of reference:
It's one thing to be comfortable or even prosperous: it's another thing to be one of the richest people on Earth. So it wouldn't be right to discuss Mr. Bezos's horoscope without mentioning its emphasis on Jupiter, Neptune and their associated signs Sagittarius and Pisces.
We find Jupiter, the great benefic, in it's own sign in the first house, the most important house. This is a classic Indian "great soul combination", the Hamsa Maha Purusha Yoga which is associated with opportunity, abundance and optimism. As Jupiter is angular from the Moon, we see another classic pattern, the Gaja Keshari Yoga, whose name "Elephant Lion Combination" suggests a person of influence. We also find the following:
When favorably disposed, Jupiter and its related symbols correspond to abundance, opportunity, and optimism. It's consistent with astrological reasoning that Mr. Bezos would name his ever-growing online store (where any item can be purchased and promptly delivered with the click of a button, almost anywhere in the world) after the longest river in the world. In a similar vein, at 417 feet, his boat Koru is the world’s largest sailing yacht, costing an estimated $500 million to construct. Individuals with this much emphasis on Jupiter symbolism, are always reaching for the stars one way or another.
Mr. Bezos has an interesting rulership pair involving public notoriety. It's a "1/10" combination which appears from the Ascendant (Lagna in Sanskrit) the Moon Ascendant (Chandra Lagna) and the Sun Ascendant (Surya Lagna). We don't see this pattern very often !
When the same pattern appears from the Ascendant + Moon + Sun... it's a pattern indeed. Any competent astrologer, examining Mr. Bezos' horoscope at birth, could safely predict a life in the public eye, a life of ambition and worldly influence.
According to Wikipedia, Margaret Thatcher "was a British stateswoman and Conservative politician who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1979 to 1990 and Leader of the Conservative Party from 1975 to 1990. She was the first female British prime minister and the longest-serving of the 20th century. As prime minister, she implemented economic policies that became known as Thatcherism. A Soviet journalist dubbed her the "Iron Lady", a nickname that became associated with her uncompromising politics and leadership style."
She entered politics in her 20's and remained there for the rest of her career, even though she had studied Chemistry at university and worked briefly as a chemist. Note that the Moon, her 10th Lord and primary career symbol, conjoins Neptune (Chemistry)... in the 11th house... the house of... politics.
Her political career culminated during her Rahu Dasha, which lasted from 1972 to 1990. Rahu is placed in her 10th house: a classic indication of someone inclined to make a dent in the world.
Astrologers will note her Mercury/Saturn conjunction, with Saturn exalted in the 1st house Libra: a powerful joining of the lords of the favorable 4th, 5th, 9th and lords. Saturn, very close to the ascendant, makes the combination even more pronounced. But Mrs. Thatcher's horoscope contains something extra: let's call it a sequential rulership pattern. It's when the same pattern appears from several houses, in sequence. One house after the next.
In this chart, we see the 10th lord in the 11th house, four times over. What makes this sequential is that the same pattern appears from several houses, in order:
As the eleventh house relates to organizations and politics, this pattern strongly suggests a career in public service, large organizations, associates, etc.
Colonel Sanders was, according to Wikipedia, "an American businessman, best known for founding the fast food chicken restaurant chain Kentucky Fried Chicken (also known as KFC) and later acting as the company's brand ambassador and symbol. His name and image are still symbols of the company."
Rising from humble beginnings, he started out cooking for his family at age 7 and ended up at the top of a restaurant chain with over 20,000 locations.
While there were probably many fine cooks in his era, it's unlikely that they all possessed Colonel Sander's acumen for business and finance, often associated with the 8th house.
At first glance, his horoscope is unremarkable. On closer examination, we see that he has 5 planets in their own signs... in sequence:
Even more remarkably, we we see following 8th Lord combinations... again in sequence. Like a Royal Flush in the card game Poker.
Not many people have this sort of chart pattern, which we have called Sequential Rulership Pairs. But there are some...
Here's a horoscope with "royal" combinations that appear in unbroken order. You won't find too many like this in your collection. Many charts indicate leadership, but very few show it to this degree or in this manner.
Traditional astrology is mainly event oriented, rarely psychological. In popular Hindu astrology, as with early Greek astrology, whole-sign houses are the norm and event analysis depends first and foremost upon the strength of the houses. Observing this approach, where houses are the same as the signs or constellations, Robert DeLuce, the first American to write an authoritative text on Hindu astrology, titled his 1963 work Constellational Astrology.
When the houses resonate strongly, people rise to prominence... whatever their psychological fitness. History, we might consider, is largely a record of individuals with strong destiny patterns and questionable sanity. Astrology depicts the forces at play, whether they are harmonious or conflicted. When "career" symbols are over-emphasized to the point of great imbalance, fame and infamy often walk hand in hand.
Here we see Mercury, the ruler of the 2nd house, in the 11th house. This is a standard combination for wealth, as we saw in the chart of Jeff Bezos above. We also see the Sun, the lord of the 1st house, in the 10th house: a standard pattern for leadership and recognition. (Jeff Bezos has the 10th lord in the 1st house: basically the same configuration, simply reversed). What may be less evident, are the following sequential and repeating patterns for leadership:
What we see in this unique horoscope, is the lord of the tenth house in the first house, in five consecutive ascendants: houses 1 through 5. This is a rare combination ! How many charts do you know of, which show this pattern ? It's like a Royal Flush in the card game Poker. For a man who owned casinos, this combination is strangely appropriate.
Very few charts contain a pattern which repeats 5 times. And very few have patterns that are sequential, like the one above, which is seen from the houses 1,2,3,4,5.
Note that this sequential rulership pair combination does not appear if we use other house systems or zodiacs. This pattern only appears using whole sign houses and the sidereal zodiac. Proof of this point is left as an exercise for the esteemed reader.
